About Scientific Magnetics

At Scientific Magnetics, we offer standard and tailor-made superconducting magnet and cryogenic solutions. Whether you require a simple solenoid in a bath cryostat, a cryogen-free system, or a superconducting magnet and cryogenic system with new or unusual features, you should be talking to us.
Working from your technical specification or performance requirements, we can develop a superconducting magnet system from the initial geometry of the coils, through design, to assembly, test and commissioning.

We manufacture superconducting magnets from both low-temperature and high-temperature superconductor, in circular and non-circular geometries.

We design and build cryostats operating at temperatures down to 0.3 K, including normal and superfluid helium systems, zero boil-off (recondensing) and cryogen-free magnet systems.

We also design and build cryogenic valve boxes and special cryostats for a wide variety of applications.

Firsts

Scientific Magnetics operates at the cutting edge of superconducting technology. Our world firsts include:

Scientific Magnetics has undertaken collaborative research and development using applied superconductivity with Universities including Cambridge, London and Oxford. Our customers are located throughout the world, and include companies such as Rolls Royce, Siemens and Astrium, together with research institutes including CERN, ETH Zurich, GSI Darmstadt and the Jefferson Laboratory in Newport News, Virginia.

Scientific Magnetics is also pleased to offer completely integrated field-temperature environments for the demanding researcher.

Scientific Magnetics is a trading name of Space Cryomagnetics Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Company number 3950388, VAT registered number 749926670.
